After rapid rollout of One UI 8.5 and the June security update that patched a “local attacker” vulnerability, Samsung is quickly bringing the One UI 9 beta to more phones.

In the last couple of days, firmware tracker Tarun Vats confirmed internal testing has started for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S24 series, and Galaxy S24 FE. A first internal build for the Galaxy A56 has also been spotted. That’s on top of the Galaxy S26, which is already on Beta 3, and the Galaxy S25, which is next in line for the public beta.

That means Samsung is running One UI 9 development across four generations of flagships and a mid-range device simultaneously. Samsung is clearly moving faster with this rollout than previous years as it races toward a stable build ahead of next month’s Unpacked.

What’s Actually In Samsung’s One UI 9 Update?

The full picture lands at next month’s Unpacked event in London with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. What’s in the beta right now is mostly stability work. Beta 3, released this week for the Galaxy S26, fixed camera preview cropping, lock screen widget errors, S Pen home screen swipe issues, and a bug that was causing random reboots during video streaming.

It also added a Quick Panel icon for Summarise Notifications, and Samsung explicitly tells you the summaries are AI-generated, alongside smoother animations. You can see that in action below.

The headline feature, Gemini Intelligence, isn’t in the beta yet. That arrives with the Z Fold 8 in July. It’s agentic AI, meaning it can handle multi-step tasks without you needing to stay involved. Think booking concert tickets (mostly) autonomously, pulling items from your Notes app and adding them to an Amazon cart, or checking your emails and drafting a response.

It’s the biggest change to Galaxy (and Pixel) software in years, and every eligible device will get it after the July 22 launch, but it does come with some serious security questions. Read more about that here.
