Specialist webcam and PTZ maker Obsbot has announced a new and foldable 4K webcam with AI built in. The Obsbot Meet Flip has a 0.5-inch stacked CMOS sensor, four-mode intelligent audio and AI-powered meeting intelligent features, along with hardware-based privacy. The webcam is incredibly compact, making it suitable for use on laptops and portable displays.

Obsbot’s Meet Flip is its first foldable webcam. It features a 0.5-inch Sony Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor powered by Obsbot’s proprietary AI algorithms. This delivers high image quality, audio intelligence and advanced AI features.

“Meet Flip represents our vision of what the modern daily meeting webcam should be,” says Liu Bo, Obsbot’s CEO. “We believe privacy shouldn’t be something users have to think about. By building it directly into the hardware while delivering premium 4K image quality and intelligent AI features, Meet Flip makes privacy feel as natural as opening or closing a laptop.”

New Take On Privacy

Meet Flip’s most noticeable and practical feature is its fold-to-protect design. This webcam eliminates the need for detachable covers or software-based privacy controls by physically blocking the lens when not in use. By closing the Meet Flip, the lens is covered and the webcam enters sleep mode, clearly showing the privacy state that can be verified immediately.

Weighing just 37.7g, the Meet Flip is being hailed as one of the lightest 4K webcams on the market. Its integrated unibody clip attaches to laptops, monitors or standard tripods and it can be used in landscape, portrait and even upside-down orientations. A built-in 1/4″ thread provides universal tripod compatibility, making the Meet Flip usable with a wide range of grips, tripods or gimbals.

Built around a Sony 1/2″ stacked CMOS sensor with Exmor RS architecture and Quad Bayer technology, the Meet Flip contains the kind of components usually found in more expensive webcams. Obsbot claims the result is a noticeably better dynamic range, lower noise floors and more accurate color reproduction than other entry-level webcams.

4K UHD Resolution

Other key imaging specifications include an output resolution of 4K UHD @ 30fps. Alternatively, the resolution can be switched to 1080p with an increased frame rate of 60fps, offering a choice between ultra-high-definition video or smooth high-frame-rate capture for smoother motion capture.

There is also support for HDR built in to intelligently balance exposure in high-contrast environments, ensuring backlit faces remain visible. PDAF fast autofocus and 4x digital zoom, providing real-time focus tracking and flexible framing without manual adjustment. Finally, the lens has a large f/1.8 aperture with a sensitivity ranging from 100 – 6400 ISO.

A Sound Investment

While most webcams use just one or two microphones with a basic setup, the Obsbot Meet Flip has an Intelligent Dual-Mic system combining omnidirectional and directional microphones. The system supports four scenario-specific audio modes that are optimized for different meeting environments.

Directional Mode is designed for solo calls and presentations, focusing forward and cutting background noise. Dual-Directional Mode is best suited for two-way conversations and in-person interviews where front and rear audio are captured while filtering out sound from the side.

Smart Omni Mode is the ideal choice for multi-person meetings and balances voices from all directions around a table. Finally, Pure Audio Mode provides an unprocessed stereo output via independent left and right channels for anyone who needs full post-production control. The audio system also includes Auto Gain and AI Noise Reduction settings that operate silently across the audio modes, except for Pure Audio.

Other built-in AI functions are designed to improve everyday meetings rather than distract from them. AI Magic Notes is Meet Flip’s most unusual feature. Powered by the Obsbot Center software, it provides real-time transcription and automatic meeting summaries, including capturing key points, decisions and action items across Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams with a single subscription. Every Meet Flip webcam ship with 120 complimentary minutes of AI time to get started.

AI Auto Framing uses real-time detection and Obsbot’s self-developed algorithms to keep users framed across in landscape and portrait orientations. There are Group, Single Close-Up, Upper Body and Full Body framing modes. Gesture Control lets users toggle Auto Framing or adjust the digital zoom using simple hand gestures.

Obsbot Software and Ecosystem

The Meet Flip webcam works with Obsbot Center software, giving users access to tools designed for capturing meetings and presentations. Features such as Background Blur and Background Replacement reduce distractions and help maintain privacy, while Real-Time Beauty Mode provides a subtle and natural facial enhancement.

For presentations, training sessions and remote collaboration, there are native Picture-in-Picture overlays that make it easy to layer live video over presentations, documents or other visual references without relying on complex third-party software.

Software Extras

For users who want to unlock even more from their webcam, Obsbot Center also has advanced customization options, including Smart Eye Tracking, Teleprompter support and detailed image adjustments. Beyond the desktop software, the Obsbot Live app extends the webcam’s compatibility to mobile devices, enabling the Meet Flip to connect directly to smartphones and tablets using a USB-C cable for more flexible streaming and content creation.

The Meet Flip is a plug-and-play webcam that works with major conferencing and streaming platforms. It also supports accessories such as the Obsbot Meet Remote Control, UVC to NDI/HDMI adapters, as well as integrations including Elgato Stream Deck, Nintendo Switch 2 and OSC/API workflows.
