The Dodgers and Yankees are loaded with star players who are already rostered in most fantasy leagues. However, both teams also have some potentially valuable players who are still sitting on the waiver wire. Let’s look towards Week 12 and highlight five players to consider adding who are still available in the majority of Yahoo leagues.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Targets For Week 12

Roki Sasaki, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers (52% rostered)

Sasaki’s 4.59 ERA and 1.35 WHIP don’t look great. However, a lot of his struggles came earlier in the season. Across his last five outings, he has a 3.18 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP. That included two difficult matchups against the Brewers and Phillies. Sasaki is expected to face the Angels, who have struck out the most times in baseball, on Friday. Looking further ahead, he has a Week 12 outing against a White Sox team that has struck out the fourth-most times and is missing their best hitter in Munetaka Murakami (hamstring). Sasaki is rostered in just over half of leagues, so it’s worth checking your waiver wire to see if you can add him.

Rico Garcia, RP, Baltimore Orioles (35% rostered)

The Orioles continue to play without their closer Ryan Helsley (elbow), who has been sidelined since the end of April. Garcia has racked up three saves in his absence, while also posting a 0.71 ERA over his last 13 appearances. He has a 0.68 ERA, 0.61 WHIP, and a 32.3% strikeout rate for the season. Until Helsley makes his return, Garcia should still be in the mix for saves for the Orioles.

Spencer Horwitz, 1B, Pittsburgh Pirates (21% rostered)

Horwitz has been locked in at the plate, hitting 13-for-40 (.325) with a .404 OBP and two home runs over his last 10 games. During that span, he has six walks and just three strikeouts. He is a good contact hitter who has a .371 wOBA and a .167 ISO for the season. While he’s not a flashy name, he can provide a boost for fantasy managers in 12-team and deeper leagues that need help for their lineup.

Jake McCarthy, OF, Colorado Rockies (18% rostered)

McCarthy showed promise with the Diamondbacks in 2024, batting .285 with 25 stolen bases. However, after he hit just .204 last year, he was traded to the Rockies in the offseason. The change of scenery has proven be a blessing with him batting .284 with 10 stolen bases through 52 games. It helps that he plays his home games at Coors Field, where he has a .952 OPS. The Rockies will play 12 of their next 18 games at home, and three of their road games will be at the A’s hitter-friendly park. With this favorable stretch factored in, McCarthy could provide value.

Jasson Dominguez, OF, New York Yankees (9% rostered)

When Giancarlo Stanton (calf) went down, the Yankees turned to Dominguez to play left field. However, he only lasted nine games before suffering a shoulder injury while making a catch. He has been sidelined for nearly a month, but he will begin a rehab assignment on Friday. Stanton is still out, and now Aaron Judge (rib) is expected to miss at least four-to-six weeks. After a few rehab games, Dominguez could step right back into the Yankees’ lineup.

Takeaway

There is an interesting mix of hitters to consider adding off the waiver wire heading into Week 12, with Dominguez, Horwitz, and McCarthy standing out. For those who need starting pitching reinforcements, Sasaki should be considered a top option. Garcia also has the potential to help with saves. Be sure to check back throughout the season as we provide the top waiver wire options to help you win your fantasy baseball league.
