Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Price Slashed Weeks Before iPhone 18 Release

Days after the iPhone 17 price was slashed, Samsung has now cut the price of the Galaxy S26 Ultra weeks before its chief rival in the iPhone 18 launches.

This is the cheapest the Galaxy S26 Ultra has been since it launched, but there’s still some room for the price to fall further if it follows the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s pricing trajectory from last year.

Read on for more and don’t forget to subscribe to my free newsletter for instant deal updates, or follow my TikTok for more tech news.

Samsung Drops Galaxy S26 Price To Lowest Price Ever

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is down by $200 directly at Samsung.com right now if no phone is traded in. It’s the same at Best Buy, but you can get it for $338.99 cheaper on Amazon if you opt for the Cobalt Violet colour, bringing the price to under $1,000.

Here’s where the phone is currently on offer:

  • Amazon: $961 for the 256GB Cobalt Violet: the lowest price on any new S26 Ultra right now. Other colours are $1,099.99. That’s a $338.99 saving on the $1,299.99 launch price, or 26% off with no strings attached.
  • Samsung.com: $1,099.99 across all colours for the 256GB model, which is $200 off the launch price. Also includes $100 in store credit.
  • Best Buy: $1,099.99 for 256GB. Same $200 discount as Samsung, available unlocked or carrier-locked.

A sub-$1,000 Galaxy S26 Ultra is an excellent deal, especially considering it’s only five months old. But there’s still room for that price to drop because the Galaxy S25 Ultra hit $849 during Black Friday 2025.

The RAM crisis that is forcing price rises complicates how far Samsung and other manufacturers can go when it comes to discounts. But retailers like Amazon will want to clear stock before the Galaxy S27 launches, so there’s still a chance it drops further.

Forget The Galaxy S26, Should You Wait For The Galaxy S27?

Recent leaks from reliable tipster Ice Universe suggest the Galaxy S27 Ultra is coming with Qi2 magnetic charging built into the hardware. This is the same MagSafe-style attachment system that iPhone users have had for years. The cameras are also getting a significant redesign, with a new unified camera island that looks similar to the iPhone’s camera loadout. A larger silicon-carbon battery is also likely.

Those are solid reasons to wait…if the price holds. The S27 Ultra is arriving in the middle of a memory crisis that is already forcing prices up across the industry. The iPhone 18 is expected to be more expensive, and the iPhone Fold could top out at $2,400, alongside price rises for the Google for the Pixel 11 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

The Galaxy S27 Ultra will almost certainly see its own discounts in 2027, but we don’t know if it will drop as far as the Galaxy S26 or Galaxy S25 have this early into their respective life cycles because of those higher manufacturing costs.
