Honor released the Magic V6 at Mobile World Congress 2026 to establish an explicit dimension benchmark ahead of Samsung’s summer product cycle.
Honor launched the Magic V6 at Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026 in March. Widely seen as an early launch following the Magic V5’s arrival in September. When it launched, it was the thinnest foldable on the market, shaving a millimetre away from the Magic V5 design. The hinge was reworked to offer a smaller profile when closed, and the introduction of silicon-carbon battery technology offering 6,600 mAh in global versions.
The Magic V6 defined what a foldable could deliver in 2026. It dominated the MWC reports, and as the releases rolled out in China, Europe, and the rest of the world, it has remained in the headlines. Honor broke free of the pack and has been setting the pace in the first half of the year. Samsung’s foldable is going to get compared to the Magic V6; its specifications are the high-water mark that the new Fold must reach and exceed.
Expect to see Honor to start some aggressive marketing following the launch of the Galaxy foldables with a mix of discount pricing and bundled accessories.
