Thanks to those great people at Bandai Spirits, Samus Aran from Metroid Prime 4 will get a diecast figure released next Summer.
Specifically, this chogokin will be of Samus in her Varia Suit from Metroid Prime 4, with lights and full articulation.
The toy itself will use diecast throughout, not only for parts but also in the joints, to afford a wider and sturdier range of articulation.
This is also of the Varia Suit after Samus arrives on Viewros and has the psychic crystal embedded in her suit’s forehead.
According to the site’s listing, this chogokin of Samus will be released in Japan next May and cost 30,800 yen (or around $198 at the current exchange rate).
That may sound like a lot, but the figure is pretty big, at 21cm in height, and has lights and obviously a lot of diecast in its construction.
While this is currently only listed as a Japanese release at present, I am very confident this will come westward as well next year.
As an aside, the sculpt and general detailing look spot-on to the game model, which is something I definitely appreciated.
It even looks like the arm cannon opens up for missile mode, and the toy will even come with a stand.
Until now, we’ve only had, admittedly excellent, figma figures from Good Smile Company for the Metroid games, so I am very happy to see that Bandai Spirits has their own Metroid-related toys planned.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is released today for Switch 2 and Switch. You can also read my review of the game here.
