Sky confirmed that it has completed production on the four-part docuseries The Wargame.
Based on the award-winning Sky News podcast of the same name, the series takes viewers behind closed doors into a sealed COBR-style crisis room where real-world senior politicians, military leaders and intelligence chiefs are challenged to confront a high-stakes scenario: a Russian attack on UK soil.
Set six months in the future, the series lays out events in the same way they would be revealed in an actual attack – using a combination of military and intelligence reports, news channel updates, social media posts and guidance from other outside analysts. The assembled crisis room team then makes split-second strategic decisions, based on the available information available.
The simulation has been developed in conjunction with leading academics, military and defense experts, including Sky News’ Security and Defense Editor Deborah Haynes, to replicate the pressure of political decision-making at the highest level.
