Tay Keith, a Grammy-nominated music producer known for his collaborations with Travis Scott and Drake, has died.

Keith, whose real name was Brytavious Chambers, was found dead Thursday in his Tennessee apartment by officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department. The department did not list a cause of death. Keith was 29.

A post on the Metro Nashville PD’s X account reads, “No foul play is suspected in the death of Brytavious Chambers, 29, also known as Grammy nominated record producer Tay Keith. He was found dead in his Martin St apt this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check. His death is unclassified pending autopsy results.”

Keith received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Song in 2019 for producing Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” which appeared on the artist’s Astroworld album. Keith landed his second Grammy nomination in 2023, also for Best Rap Song, for producing Drake and 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex,” which appeared on their collaborative album Her Loss.

Tay Keith Also Worked With Eminem, Beyoncé And Jennifer Lopez

Born Brytavious Lakeith Chambers on Sept. 20, 1996, in Memphis, Tenn., Keith’s first found mainstream success by producing BlocBoy JB’s 2018 hit, “Rover.”

In addition to his collaborations with Travis Scott and Drake, Keith worked with several music luminaries, including Eminem (featuring Royce da 5’9) on the single “Not Alike,” from Eminem’s 2018 album Kamikaze. Then, in 2019, Keith teamed with Maze singer Frankie Beverly and Beyoncé for her cover of Maze’s “Before I Let Go,” which was featured in Beyoncé’s concert film Homecoming.

Keith also teamed with DJ Khaled to produce his 2019 hit “Wish Wish,” which featured Cardi B and 21 Savage; as well as DJ Khaled’s hit “Jealous,” which featured Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Big Sean. In 2021, Keith worked with DJ Khaled once again on “I Did It,” which featured Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby and DaBaby.

Also, in 2024, Keith was one of the producers who worked on Jennifer Lopez’s album This Is Me … Now, which accompanied Lopez’s Prime Video original movie musical This Is Me … Now: A Love Story.
