Two of the best gaming soundtracks of the last 25 years are finally being re-released on vinyl — and another finally debuts. Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian will once again return to turntables in Q4 2026, and the ICO OST will premiere, thanks to a new deal struck between Sony and iam8bit.

iam8bit has form for great-looking soundtracks, producing vinyls for everything from the Ori games through to the OST for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Still, even these don’t quite compete with Team ICO’s trio of brilliance, which have become collector’s items in recent years due to their sheer rarity.

This week, the company unveiled the full trio, which is now available to preorder on the iam8bit website:

  • ICO single LP, by Pentagon and Michiru Oshima, released for the first time on “Ocean Wave Vinyl” for $31.99
  • Shadow of the Colossus double LP, by Kow Otani, originally released in 2018, now on translucent colored vinyl for $42.99
  • The Last Guardian double LP, by Takeshi Furukawa, which first dropped in 2017, on black and white marble vinyl, also for $42.99

The artwork for all three has been handled by Canadian illustrator Nimit Malavia, a comic book specialist who’s worked with Marvel, and manages to capture the essence of each game with impressive attention to detail.

If you’re feeling flush, you can grab them as a package, complete with a combination sleeve, for $120; if you’ve already got one or two of the trio, you can mop up the rest and get the slipcase separately for $15.

I’m not gonna lie, Shadow of the Colossus has to be one of my all-time favorite soundtracks of all time, specifically End of the Battle, which I wrote about way back in 2018, before I even became a contributor here. There’s something about the combination of beauty and doom that completely underscores the Colossus soundtrack, especially as it plays out like it knows exactly what’s about to come for Wander and Agro.

Even if you’re not interested in this, check out everything else iam8bit has worked on, and subsequently sold out of. It’s really rather depressing to learn what you’ve missed out on.
