Those who love both pizza and an iconic franchise will be in for quite the treat as a new pizzeria opens in Santa Monica this month.

The first official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizzeria will open on the 3rd Street Promenade (1444 Third Street Promenade) on Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m., according to a post from restauranteur Andy Nguyen.

Another report from the Santa Monica Daily Press revealed that the restaurant will be operating in “soft opening mode” for the next 10 days before the official grand opening.

Nguyen — who is behind IP-based eateries such as the One Piece Cafe in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, the Sonic The Hedgehog Speed Cafe in St. Louis, and the Hello Kitty Cafe in Las Vegas — revealed in his post that, “the Turtles will be there in person to celebrate with us!”

He first teased the TMNT Pizzeria back in July 2025 with an Instagram post showing him and his collaborators posing in front of a sign boasting it would open later that year.

“Cowabunga, it’s happening. The first-ever official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizzeria is launching soon in Santa Monica, CA!’ the post began.

“We’re bringing that classic New York-style cheesy slice straight to the West Coast—with a TMNT twist,” he added.

Nguyen clarified, “This has been years in the making… and we’re finally ready to open our doors and serve up pizza worthy of the sewer squad. Stay tuned—because it’s almost time to eat like a Ninja Turtle.”

Back in February, Paramount announced a global multi-year licensing deal with Mattel to develop new products that will tie into the 2027 animated sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 and a new TMNT live-action/animation hybrid film set for 2028.

The Hollywood Reporter also revealed in February that the Santa Monica pizzeria will be the first of three restaurants that Paramount will open.

The other two will be located in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Monterey, Mexico, though there is no indication when either of those will open.

The official TMNT Pizzeria LA Instagram posted a video on Tuesday, offering a glimpse inside the restaurant before its opened to the public.

The brief video features neon signs featuring the heroes in a half-shell’s beloved catch-phrase – “Cowabunga” – along with neon signs of the characters’ heads plus wall artwork and other items featured throughout the store including a mask from another character, Casey Jones.
