Premium audio brands Trinnov and Ascendo have announced the latest evolution of the Cylindrical WaveForming technology they first introduced in 2025 that they claim will drastically improve the bass performance of high-end home audio systems. Especially home audio systems installed, like many are, in relatively square-shaped rooms.

This isn’t just a ‘proof of concept’ announcement, either; the brands will be putting on a full working demonstration of their latest audio system in action at the upcoming Audio Advice Live 2026 show.

Buoyed by winning the eCoustic award for Best Bass Response with their demo at 2025’s Audio Advice Live show, Trinnov and Ascendo have upped the ante for their 2026 demo, which will feature Trinnov’s flagship AltitudeCI Audio processor with an Amplitude 16 amplifier and Trinnov’s Dante interface, driving an Ascendo high-performance immersive audio speaker system put together to specifically showcase the German speaker brand’s latest subwoofer innovations.

Unlike regular luxury home cinema audio setups, which try to compensate for standing wave-related bass distortions (where waves of sound “bump into” each other after bouncing off walls or other surfaces), the idea behind Trinnov and Ascendo’s Cylindrical Wave approach is to essentially prevent standing waves happening in the first place. Something it achieves by using a floor-level front subwoofer array alongside strategically placed rear subwoofers, resulting in a more consistent bass response with improved transient accuracy and greatly enhanced seat-to-seat uniformity – all while requiring less architectural development and complexity than traditional planar set ups.

While the sort of WaveForming results Trinnov/Ascendo are set to show off at the Audio Advice Live show can be achieved using as few as four subwoofers, the upcoming presentation in the 25 x 25 x 8 foot Magnolia II room at the Sheraton Hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina will feature four Ascendo THE18 Sub Passive Vented subwoofers positioned along the front wall, with two more of the same speaker placed along the back wall. All controlled by Trinnov’s advanced room optimization management to complete the Cylindrical WaveForming array effect.

Attendees of the Audio Advice Live 2026 Show will also be able to enjoy Ascendo’s innovations in infrasonic bass frequencies (which operate below WaveForming’s range) courtesy of the brand’s THE32 infra sub speaker, while 13 Ascendo coaxial point-source home cinema speakers will be on hand to create what the brand says will be a realistic, perfectly timed surround sound stage that multiple people in the room will be able to enjoy at once without the customary sweet spot problem.

The ground-breaking audio set up Trinnov and Ascendo will be demonstrating at the Audio Advice Live 2026 Show will be accompanied by a Christie Korus 4K1000-KS laser projector equipped with a 1.25-2.0:1 zoom lens, projecting onto a 135-inch Stewart Wallscreen Deluxe with Harmony woven material.
