Lioness, Taylor Sheridan’s hit military spy series starring Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Kelly, returns for its third season on Paramount+ on Sunday.
Formerly known as Special Ops: Lioness, Sheridan’s hit espionage thriller kicked off in July 2023 with Season 1 and returned with Season 2 in October 2024. Saldaña stars in the series as Joe McNamara, a CIA station chief who heads the covert operation unit Lioness.
Joe’s mission is to recruit and train female soldiers for missions to fight the war on terror all over the global. Making Joe’s life even more complicated is the delicate balance she tries to maintain with her family life at home because of the risky and unpredictable nature of her missions.
In Season 3 of Lioness, Joe finds herself in a world where hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals collide. Guiding Joe on her team’s most dangerous mission to date is CIA Clandestine Service supervisor Kaitlyn Meade (Kidman) and CIA’s Deputy Director of Operations Byron Westfield (Kelly), who work closely with U.S. Secretary of State Edwin Mullins (Freeman).
Created by Sheridan (Landman, The Madison and Mayor of Kingstown), Lioness Season 3 also stars Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annabelle, Jill Wagner, Lamonica Garrett, Genesis Rodriguez, Thad Luckenbill, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Hannah Love Lanier and Ian Bohen.
Lioness Season 3 premiered at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT on Sunday on Paramount+ with Episode 1, titled The Spider and the Fly.
