For more than three decades now, Andrea Bocelli has been regarded as one of the greatest vocalists alive. The Italian tenor helped repopularize opera and operatic pop, and throughout his lengthy career, he has sold tens of millions of albums and tried his hand at many genres.
Bocelli scores a new hit in the United Kingdom this week, as his star-studded collaboration with several acts that couldn’t sound less like his typical output came together to produce a bestseller, one which sends Bocelli to never-before-seen career highs.
Andrea Bocelli Debuts “DNA” on Several Charts
Bocelli recently released a single titled “DNA (More Than a Game).” The track is a collaboration between the Italian singer, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, French electronic dance producer David Guetta and South Korean singer-songwriter – and recently minted Grammy and Oscar winner for the KPop Demon Hunters smash “Golden” – Ejae. The cut is one of multiple singles featured on a compilation album released for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This week, “DNA (More Than a Game)” debuts on both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts, entering those purchase-only tallies at Nos. 54 and 61, respectively.
Andrea Bocelli Scores Two New Wins
Bocelli earns his fourth career win on the Official Singles Sales chart and his fifth on the ranking that looks only at the top-selling downloads in the U.K. He first reached the downloads roster in 2007, and it would be more than a decade before he finally landed on the tally that also includes bestselling CDs, vinyl singles and cassettes. The last time Bocelli scored a win was in November 2023, when “Festa” launched and then quickly slipped away.
“DNA” Marks a Career High for Andrea Bocelli
On both charts, Bocelli hits a new career high thanks to “DNA (More Than a Game).” Before his latest cut arrived, “The Prayer” stood as his top performer on the Official Singles Sales rundown, where it topped out at No. 67. The song launched in the spring of 2020. His other two placements, “If Only” and “Festa,” missed out on hitting that figure by just one space.
“Festa” brought Bocelli to a career high point on the Official Singles Downloads chart when it debuted in November 2023. The track opened at No. 59, and it only spent one frame on the ranking.
FIFA’s Compilation Includes Major Stars
The recently-released compilation album, officially titled Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album, dropped on June 5, and “DNA (More Than a Game)” is one of nearly half a dozen singles pushed from the project. The set’s rollout began in March when Jelly Roll and Carin León debuted their collaboration “Lighter.” Since then, songs by Blackpink star Lisa, Daddy Yankee, Future, 21 Savage, Major Lazer and Shakira, and even a remix of “In the Stars,” the recent single by The Rolling Stones, are featured on the full-length, and many have been promoted as singles as well.
