DoorDash and Uber Eats to offer Costco delivery across the US

Costco revealed that it is expanding its delivery options nationwide via the popular platforms DoorDash and Uber Eats.

In an announcement Thursday, the warehouse retailer said its members can now have everything from groceries and household essentials to electronics delivered to their doors through the apps.

“Costco members have been asking for Costco on DoorDash, and today we’re delivering,” said Mike Goldblatt, vice president of Enterprise Partnerships at DoorDash.

“By pairing Costco’s quality, value and selection with DoorDash’s reach and local delivery network, we’re giving members more flexibility in how they shop.”

The move is part of the expansion by DoorDash, which already delivers Costco goods in several markets including Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico.

It marks the first time the San Francisco-based delivery company will provide options for same-day delivery in the US. 

Uber Eats announced earlier this week it would also start providing delivery to the Costco shoppers across the US, after offering it to members in places like Mexico, Canada and Japan.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Costco nationwide, giving Costco members more ways to shop and bringing the brand’s storied selection and value to more consumers,” said Andrew Macdonald, president and chief operating officer at Uber.

“Costco is one of the largest and most trusted retailers in the country for good reason, and our nationwide partnership demonstrates the scale and opportunity Uber can bring to retailers looking to meet more of consumers’ everyday shopping needs.”

Costco members will have to link their membership with DoorDash and Uber Eats in order to complete their orders.

For nearly a decade, members have been able to order their groceries from the warehouse store through Instacart.

In 2024, the San Francisco-based Uber Eats joined the pack, with delivery to just 17 states.

Costco is located in 47 states and has locations in 14 countries.

The chain has more than 800 warehouse stores around the global, with 125 million members worldwide as of 2022, according to its website.
