Elon Musk, Tim Cook, and more than a dozen other top CEOs will travel to China with President Trump later this week for a much-anticipated summit with Xi Jinping.
Meta President and Vice Chair Dina Powell McCormick, BlackRock Chairman and CEO Larry Fink and Boeing President and CEO Kelly Ortberg are also part of the US delegation, a White House official told The Post.
The travel by the titans of Wall Street and the tech world comes as Trump tries to right the US trade imbalance with Beijing, while hoping to persuade Xi to invest in America by putting in massive orders for planes, soybeans and other goods.
Trump and Musk’s bromance is back on track after a very public falling out in mid-2025 that saw Musk call for Trump’s impeachment and removal from office, while the president suggested he’d deport his former head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The pair have slowly rebuilt their friendship, with Musk reappearing at some White House events, particularly those tied to his SpaceX company.
Musk was one of the biggest contributors to Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and, after the election, led the slashing of the federal workforce as the face of — and driving force behind — DOGE.
But Tesla earnings took a hit due to Musk’s controversial government service, while he and Trump feuded over Jared Isaacman, a Musk ally whom the billionaire wanted to head NASA. Trump withdrew the pick of Isaacman, but later renominated him as he and Musk repaired their friendship.
Notably missing from the list of travelers is Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, which makes the high-tech chips powering the global AI boom. Cisco Systems CEO Chuck Robbins was also invited by the White House, but will skip the trip due to the company’s scheduled quarterly earnings call Wednesday, a spokesperson said.
It remains unclear which executives will fly on Air Force One with the president and which will have to travel by other means.
