The Palisades Village looks set to make a stunning comeback as Erewhon has revealed bougie groceries will return to Rick Caruso‘s mall in January.

The Village will reopen in full this August — complete with a massive $60 million revitalization — marking one of the biggest milestones yet following the January 2025 wildfires that tore through the wealthy coastal community.

Erewon in the Palisades has remained closed for extensive environmental remediation, deep cleaning and upgrades.

The luxe local grocer is expected to become the first market to return to the upscale shopping center, with the company saying its targeting a January opening date — as Palisades Village welcomes back returning retailers and new stores after almost 19 months.

While the historic blaze destroyed thousands of structures, the Palisades Village was famously saved from destruction thanks to a privately funded firefighting team deployed by Caruso.

While the Palisades Erewhon did not burn down, it is apparently undergoing a complete redesign — complete with a new larger outdoor dining area.

The reopening lineup will feature a blend of familiar names and new arrivals. High-end fashion retailer Elyse Walker, whose original Palisades store burned down, is returning to the neighborhood with a new location in the Village.

Other former tenants who are confirmed to reopen there include Paige, Buck Mason, Jennifer Meyer, Veronica Beard, Isabel Marant, Golden Goose, Brunello Cucinelli, Zimmermann, Towne by Elyse Walker and more. Caruso has also spent the year recruiting new clothing brands like Xirena and Leset to help revive the center, as well as cosmetic and skincare store Violet Grey.

In addition to Erewhon, foodies can look forward to going back to Angelini and Blue Ribbon Sushi, and trying out Nancy Silverton’s Italian steakhouse Spacca Tutto, which is slated to debut in August.

All told, 46 businesses are expected to be operational out of the Palisades Village, Women’s Wear Daily reported.

“We’ve structured deals that help support retailers in different ways that they need it,” Caruso told WWD. “That doesn’t mean they’re not paying rent. Everybody’s paying rent, but we’re gonna be supportive. Especially for the independent, the smaller tenants, the young entrepreneurs that have opened up.”

Caruso is hopeful that tenants will have their spaces ready by August 1, with plans to be open for business by the middle of August.
