FC Barcelona has reached a “total agreement” to sign a top young European talent in Jesse Bisiwu according to SPORT and journalist Sacha Tavolieri, citing anonymous sources.

This means that six-month long negotiations between Barça and Clube Brugge are reaching a conclusion.

The agreement is said to be for $11.4 million (€10 million) plus a 30% percent stake for the Belgians if Bisiwu is sold on in the future.

Clube Brugge was effectively backed into a corner given the 18-year-old’s contract expires next year.

With the youngster now in the last 12 months of his contract, Clube Brugge needs to sell the player to at least receive something for his services.

Waiting any longer would result in Bisiwu walking for nothing in the near future, and Barça are also managing to land Karim Adeyemi using this approach.

Like Bisiwu, the Borussia Dortmund winger is only tied down until June 30, 2027. The Catalans have been able to capitalize, and are drawing close to finishing off a deal which is said to cost $25 million plus $8 million in variables.

Bisiwu looks like he could be confirmed first, however. The necessary paperwork is already being sent across and he should travel to Barcelona next week to carry out medical checks and become a new Blaugrana star.

The plan is for Bisiwu to join Juliano Belletti’s Barca Atletic outfit. He will join the first team group in Hansi Flick’s preseason camp first, however.

With that, there’s always the chance for reserves and U-18 Juvenil prospects to remain a part of the senior squad if they’ve impressed the German.

Bisiwu is a strong bet for FC Barcelona’s future

It’s clear to see that Flick and Sporting Director Deco are currently prioritizing widemen ahead of 2026/2027. They’ve already signed Anthony Gordon for $80 million from Newcastle United, while also closing in on Adeyemi and Bisiwu.

If this means the end of Raphinha at FC Barcelona, amid interest from Saudi Arabia, is a valid conversation. What appears to be true, however, is that Flick is prioritizing pace and directness while learning that in modern football, the best teams have several options down the flank to provide support to the likes of Lamine Yamal.
