The Hurricanes, which claimed their first and only Stanley Cup during the 2005-06 season, have compiled a 12-1 record during the current postseason run, sweeping the Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers in the first and second rounds, respectively. Carolina is led by coach Rod Brind’Amour, who has played or coached in 98 of the franchise’s 100 postseason wins.

Meanwhile, the Golden Knights, which hired coach John Tortorella late in the regular season, swept the Colorado Avalanche 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals to earn a berth in the Stanley Cup Final for the third time in the team’s nine-year history. Vegas most recently appeared in the Final in 2023, beating the Florida Panthers 4-1 to win its first ever Stanley Cup.
