Jelly Roll Scores A New Billboard Hot 100 Hit — But Only Barely

Jelly Roll’s latest album Beautifully Broken, his tenth solo release, is nearing its second birthday. The singer dropped the project in October 2024, months after he began promoting it with several singles, including “I Am Not Okay” and “Liar.”

In between collaborations with artists like Shaboozey, Marshmello, Alex Warren and others, Jelly has been busy promoting Beautifully Broken for quite some time, but now it seems he may be ready to move on to the next chapter of his career. Earlier this summer, the Grammy winner dropped “Hands Up,” which for the moment is a standalone single, but which may very well front an upcoming album. After more than a month on several country-only tallies, the tune finally makes it to the most important songs ranking in the nation — but only barely.

Jelly Roll’s New Hit Debuts on the Billboard Hot 100

“Hands Up” debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. The tally places, in order, the most popular songs in the United States using a combination of streams, sales and radio airplay. Jelly’s latest narrowly manages to reach the roster, as it opens at No. 100, in absolute last place.

Jelly Roll Scores His Twenty-Second Billboard Hot 100 Hit

“Hands Up” becomes Jelly’s twenty-second career placement on the Billboard Hot 100. Amazingly, despite his popularity in recent years, none of those tunes have climbed into the top 10. The closest that the singer-songwriter has come to the highest tier is “Need a Favor.” That career-making smash rose as high as No. 13.

Here are all of Jelly Roll’s hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

  • “All My Life” with Falling in Reverse
  • “Amen” with Shaboozey
  • “Best for Me” with Joyner Lucas
  • “Bloodline” with Alex Warren
  • “Box Me Up” with BigXthaPlug
  • “Chevrolet” with Dustin Lynch
  • “Halfway to Hell”
  • “Hands Up”
  • “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake
  • “Haunted” with Kane Brown
  • “Heart of Stone”
  • “Holy Water” with Marshmello
  • “I Am Not Okay”
  • “Liar”
  • “Lonely Road” with mgk
  • “Losers” with Post Malone
  • “Need a Favor”
  • “Save Me” with Lainey Wilson
  • “Sharks” with Lil Wayne and Big Sean
  • “Somebody Save Me” with Eminem
  • “Son of a Sinner”
  • “Wild Ones” with Jessie Murph

Jelly Roll Earns His Lowest-Peaking Song

“Hands Up” becomes Jelly’s lowest-peaking track on the Billboard Hot 100 as it debuts, at least for the moment. As it starts at No. 100, it becomes his only single to peak in the lowest possible position on the tally.

That distinction – the worst performer among Billboard Hot 100 hits – previously belonged to “Best for Me,” his collaboration with hip-hop musician Joyner Lucas. The song debuted at No. 93 in April 2024 and never climbed any higher.

Jelly Roll Claims One of Seven Debuts This Week

“Hands Up” is one of seven tracks that debut on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Jelly Roll claims the lowest-ranking of the new arrivals, while another country superstar launches much closer to the top of the list. Morgan Wallen’s “Been By Now” nearly conquers the tally immediately, as it starts at No. 2 behind only Ella Langley’s unstoppable “Choosin’ Texas.”

Here are all of the debuts on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.

  • No. 2 – Morgan Wallen – “Been by Now”
  • No. 24 – Katseye – “Animal”
  • No. 75 – Charli XCX – “Camera”
  • No. 87 – Moneybagg Yo – “I See Why”
  • No. 91 – Karol G – “Matadora”
  • No. 98 – Audrey Hobert – “Sue Me”
  • No. 100 – Jelly Roll – “Hands Up”

Jelly Roll Charts “Hands Up” on Multiple Billboard Lists

“Hands Up” also manages to appear on three additional Billboard rankings this week. The single reenters the Digital Song Sales tally at No. 13, just two spaces beneath its all-time high of No. 11. This week marks only the cut’s third frame on the purchase-only list.

The tune is also steady on a pair of country rankings. “Hands Up” holds at Nos. 23 and 30 on the Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts, respectively. The former focuses on radio spins, while the latter incorporates multiple forms of consumption, including streams, sales and airplay. Those positions remain the song’s best showings yet.
