Las Vegas outpost of The Corner Store coming this fall

Those who have had a hard time nabbing a table at Soho hot spot The Corner Store may want to look to the restaurant’s new digs – coming to Las Vegas on Nov. 9.

The new outpost, located at the Cosmopolitan, will be double the size of the NYC establishment that’s drawn the likes of Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter since it opened two years ago.

“We feel this is a natural next step,” said Eugene Remm, co-founder of Corner Store creator Catch Hospitality Group

The Corner Store’s new outpost, located at the Cosmopolitan, will be double the size of the NYC establishment.

“For people who can’t get into The Corner Store, it is a way to experience the product, an opportunity to give access to more people,” he added.

He said the change of locale doesn’t mean the restaurant will be losing its sophisticated vibe.

“It’s not like we’re going to blast music or be a big, crazy party,” Remm explained.

“I think the people who go to Vegas are similar to those in New York, and there are also a ton of locals who support our businesses.”

The Corner Store was Catch Hospitality Group’s first new restaurant concept since Catch launched in 2011, and no one was more surprised by its lightning success than Remm. It was followed by rapid-fire hits: The Eighty-Six, Or’esh and the just-opened Cafe Charmant.

The group has also signed a lease to open a new eatery — and possible private members club — at the former Cucina 8 1/2 space inside the Solow Building at 9 W. 57th St. That opening, the specifics of which are still to be determined, is slated for 2028,  Remm, told Side Dish.

Executive chef Michael Vignolia, left, and owner Eugene Remm at The Corner Store in New York. “We feel this is a natural next step,” Remm says.

Born in Russia, Remm emigrated to the US with his parents in 1980. The openings reflect Remm’s New York City grit, ambition and creativity, combined with the deep pockets of billionaire Tilman Fertitta, the Houston Rockets’ owner and President Trump’s US ambassador to Italy, who partnered with CHG in 2017.

In an exclusive interview with Side Dish before The Corner Store opened, Remm said that Fertitta helped CHG “scale and grow from New York operators to a national brand.”

“Find partners who are good at what you aren’t good at and the collective group can be successful. If you find good partners, you can divide and conquer — or you have no shot,” he said at the time.

More recently, Remm explained that The Corner Store “started off as a cute little project.”

The menu was designed as a love letter to New York, highlighting famous dishes from the city’s iconic restaurants — like a steak frites inspired by Raoul’s, plus quirky cocktails like a sour cream and onion martini with a side of chips.

The Corner Store launched without a PR strategy or typical Fashion Week parties to promote it.

“We want the food and cocktails to do the talking, and not be driven by big events and parties,” Remm told Side Dish before the opening. “We want it to be a neighborhood SoHo spot, and we want the neighborhood to discover us.”

Then Swift came in, followed by an onslaught of celebs like Lady Gaga, Leo DiCaprio, Dua Lipa, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

“It was like hand-to-hand combat when we opened,” CHG’s chef partner Michael Vignola recently told Side Dish. “Eugene was at the door and I was in the kitchen.”

Translating The Corner Store’s exclusive, New York City-centric cozy-glam vibe to a larger space in Vegas will be a challenge.

While the menu will be the same, it will also have a little something extra – like Vegas itself – with big steaks and exclusive cocktails.

“It will absolutely be the same food and beverage program, everything you know and love with elevated service,  making sure that people have a great time. All that will be the same, but the vibe will be different,” Remm said.

“The way the room is divided, it still has the intimacy that The Corner Store is known for — and 150 seats is intimate for the Vegas market,” he added.

Catch is already in Las Vegas at Aria Resort & Casino, where it has been serving customers since 2018. It has outposts in Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Mexico City, too. There’s also a Catch Steak in Aspen, Colo.

In Vegas, both The Corner Store and Catch are in hotels operated by MGM Resorts International, which will help keep the opening running smoothly, Remm said.

“It’s a market we know well,” he added.
