This September will mark eight years since Mac Miller passed away unexpectedly at the age of 26. By that point, the hip-hop musician had already been a musical superstar for the better part of a decade. In the years since his death, Miller’s estate has continued to share unreleased music, and fans have discovered hidden gems within his work.

A decade-old tune by Miller, “Cinderella,” which also credits Ty Dolla $ign, has gone viral in the past several weeks, and this frame, it continues its forward charge on multiple Billboard charts. “Cinderella,” which was originally released on Miller’s The Divine Feminine album back in the fall of 2016, launches on one tally, becoming a surprising smash for the late talent.

Mac Miller Debuts “Cinderella” on the Global Chart

“Cinderella” arrives on the Billboard Global 200 this week. The chart ranks the most-consumed songs around the planet, and purchases of a title, as well as streams on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, both play a role in bringing tunes to the ranking and deciding where they land. This time around, “Cinderella” debuts at No. 143 on the competitive rundown.

Mac Miller Scores His Third Worldwide Hit

Miller claims only his third hit on the Billboard Global 200. The chart company did not introduce the roster – along with its companion tally, the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. – until 2020, years after his death.

As “Cinderella” arrives, it immediately becomes Miller’s highest-ranking hit. Previously, “Love Lost” and “The Spins” topped out at Nos. 180 and 187, respectively. The latter track only landed on the list in March and climbed to its all-time best showing in April of this year.

Ty Dolla $ign Claims Another Career Win

Ty claims more than nine times as many appearances on the Billboard Global 200 as Miller. He’s now snagged 29 smashes, and “Cinderella” is one of his worst performers.

Ty nearly earned his first leader in early 2024 when “Carnival,” which was credited under the group name ¥$ – his short-lived project with Ye (formerly known as Kanye West – peaked at No. 2. The song also credits rappers Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti, and officially, five acts are named on the global win.

Mac Miller Doubles Up on the Global Chart

Two of Miller’s three songs that have ever landed on the Billboard Global 200 appear on the tally at the moment. As “Cinderella” debuts, “The Spins” nearly returns to its most impressive showing. “The Spins” earns its third stay on the worldwide roster as it resettles at No. 188.

“Cinderella” Surges in America as Well

At the same time that “Cinderella” debuts on the Billboard Global 200, it dances to a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100. Last week, the collaboration sat at No. 80, and in its third frame as one of the 100 most-consumed cuts in the United States, “Cinderella” surges to No. 55. “Cinderella” is now on the same level as Miller’s own “Smile Back,” which debuted at No. 55 in November 2011 and then slipped away.

“Cinderella” Climbs and Returns on Different Charts

“Cinderella” currently appears on four Billboard charts, and it’s in the midst of an exciting frame on each and every one of them. On the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs rundown, “Cinderella” flutters from No. 44 to No. 28, though that is not a new high, as it once climbed to No. 18. The collaboration also finds its way back to the Hot Rap Songs chart, reentering at No. 20. It previously reached the top 10 on that roster.
