WWE Releases On April 24, 2026 | Key Details

  • WWE made its annual “spring cleaning” releases following WrestleMania. Key names released include Kairi Sane, every member of the Wyatt Sicks, Andre Chase and Zoey Stark.
  • WWE’s releases come amid several NXT callups including Blake Monroe, Ethan Page and Sol Ruca.

WWE sadly released a handful of talent on a news-dump Friday. This has become a necessary evil for WWE, which makes annual roster cuts shortly after WrestleMania as new talent gets called up. The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy and Erick Rowan) were all given the axe after a lengthy feud with the MFTs this WrestleMania season. The long-term tensions seemed like they had a good chance of culminating in a WrestleMania match as the Wyatt Sicks hunted the MFTs for their ceremonial lantern. The Wyatt Sicks finally retrieved the device on the April 3 broadcast of SmackDown.

The Wyatt Sicks had incredible fanfare upon its horror-themed debut. Fans were into the act early on, and there was even sizable support for the act as recently as this month, though the heat for the attraction had died down considerably.

Kairi Sane’s release comes in the middle of a storyline opposite Iyo Sky. Kairi had suffered verbal abuse at the hands of Asuka, and Iyo Sky’s involvement appeared to be leading to a match between Asuka and Iyo with Kairi’s loyalty at stake.

Andre Chase, former leader of Chase U, was also released just one year after his former pupil Duke Hudson suffered the same fate. With more releases likely on the way, this class is already filled with well-traveled veterans who are likely to land on their feet on the independent circuit. Many who were cut before them have shared words of encouragement about life after WWE.

“It seems like a good day to remind people that sometimes bad news is good news…” said Top Dolla, who is now thriving in TNA.

“Goodbye and Thank you WWE. I’m really excited for whatever my next chapter will hold,” read a heartfelt message from Nikki Cross on her Twitter/X account.

“Thank you all for the continued love and support. Special thank you to Robbie Brookside and William Regal for helping this dream come true. Thank you to the wrestlers, coaches, producers and all the backstage crew who make all this possible. To the amazing girls in locker room.”
